Obtaining client information

Use our secure online service to view your clients' NS&I savings in one place.
Here, we explain the simple steps to register and the information you’ll need.

What you can do with our service

Once registered, you’ll see your clients’:

  • NS&I holdings
  • valuations and maturity dates for fixed term investments
  • copies of statements and letters
  • Premium Bonds prize history

Who can use our service

You can use our online service if you’re a professional working for an adviser firm, a group of firms, or a registered sole trader regulated by the FCA. This includes appointed representatives (Members) of Networks.

For a Network itself to use our service, we will need a Letter of Authority including details of the Network.

You can also sign up if your firm is listed on the FCA website as an 'Exempt Professional Firm'.

Please note, SIPP providers and legal firms cannot use our service.

Before you start

To register, you'll need:

  • To be a director or Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) approved person in your firm
  • Your firm's FCA registration number
  • Your clients' permission to access their accounts

What you'll send us:

  • Terms of Business Agreement (one per firm)
  • Letter of Authority (one per account holder)

Steps to register with us

Step 1: Download and send your Terms of Business Agreement

Important: If your firm has multiple branches, use the primary branch address listed on the FCA website or with Companies House.

You only need to send one Terms of Business Agreement per firm. We'll keep it on file until you tell us about any changes and in line with our record retention policy.

Step 2: Wait for confirmation

We’ll send you two things within five working days:

  • An acknowledgement letter containing your reference number (keep this safe – you'll need it when calling us)
  • An activation email with a link to set up your account and instructions to create your password

Important: The activation link expires after 14 days. Please check your junk folder.

Step 3: Activate your account

  • Select the 'Activate your account' link in the email
  • Create your password
  • You're now registered as a super-user (admin)

Step 4: Add other users if you want

As a super-user of your firm, you can provide admin rights to other staff once you’re registered and can choose their access level.

Firms can also have more than one super-user. Super-users can then add remove old or new staff members when required.

How to add clients to your account

Send a Letter of Authority for each client to view their account details.

For joint accounts, you'll need a separate Letter of Authority for each account holder.

Important: We'll only accept our NS&I template. We can't accept other formats.

If we don't have your client's current signature on file, we'll write to them directly to request a signature.

We'll send you an acknowledgement letter with a client reference number within five working days.

Trust accounts and Self-Invested Personal Pensions

List all trustees' names in the 'customer name' section on one Letter of Authority. All trustees must sign.

Important: You can only access trust account information by phone. We're working to make this available online in the future.
