What to do when a client dies

Bereavement claims

We've found that in some cases where a customer's estate has made a bereavement claim, they didn't receive the full amount owed to them. We’re extremely sorry for this error and are working hard to make sure that everyone affected is repaid the money owed to them.

Find out more

Our bereavement guide will give you all the information you need to manage your client’s savings, to help you and their family every step of the way. Whoever is legally entitled to your client’s savings can make a claim online or by post.

If your client has passed away, their Letter of Authority will no longer be valid. All requests for account information will need to be sent to us in accordance with our bereavement process.
