      • With Index-linked Savings Certificates, you can be certain that the return on your clients’ savings will stay ahead of inflation. They are lump sum investments that move in line with the CPI (or RPI for investments made before 1st May 2019) and earn extra interest at guaranteed rates that stay the same for the length of the term. They’re totally free of UK Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax.

Definitions

  • Tax-free means that the interest or prizes are exempt from UK Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax.
  • AER (Annual Equivalent Rate) illustrates what the annual rate of interest would be if the interest was compounded each time it was paid. Where interest is paid annually, the quoted rate and the AER are the same.
  • Gross is the taxable rate of interest without the deduction of UK Income Tax.
